Application: The market environment.

Modernisation in the housing sector with gas condensing technology.

  • CO2 saving goals make renovating multi-family houses increasingly appealing

  • Rising demand for high-quality housing stock with low running costs

  • Legal framework requires integration of regenerative heat generators

Application: The building.

Modernisation in the housing sector with gas condensing technology.

A multi-family house in the housing sector.

Many existing multi-family houses are heated with simple gas instantaneous water heaters installed in each flat. The energy efficiency in this scenario is low, the gas connections in each flat disruptive and the integration of renewable energies virtually impossible. The modernisation of gas instantaneous water heaters with heat interface units and a modern, central heating system combines the advantages of both heating systems.

Requirement: The requirement.

Modernisation in the housing sector with gas condensing technology.

The requirement:

  • Powerful and highly efficient heat production
  • Preserves the benefits of decentralised heat production
  • Future-proof thanks to modular design with the option of integrating renewable energy sources

Logamatic 5313

In a system with the Logamatic 5313, the Logamax plus GB272 works perfectly with combined heat and power units, for example, and further regenerative heat generators and buffer cylinders. This is where the Logamatic 5313 plays to its strengths: Flexible expansion for several heating circuits, sub-stations, multi-boiler systems or the integration of regenerative heat generators. The control system can be expanded with suitable modules as required. The entire system can be operated via the Internet thanks to the Internet interface integrated as standard.

Expansion stage 1:
Heat distribution.

System: Expansion stage 1.

Logaflow HSM plus heat distribution

  • Can be ordered pre-assembled
  • Compact design for fast assembly
  • Fully wired control cabinet incl. controller
  • Integration into the Logamatic 5000 without complications via network cable
  • Communication with BMS systems via Modbus interface
  • Stand-alone operation possible

System: Expansion stage 1.

Logaflow HSM plus heat distribution

System advantage:
For fast and safe assembly, pre-assembled HSM modules are used for supplying the heat interface units, which can be connected to the system control without complications.

System

Expansion stage 2:
Decentralised heat interface unit.

System: Expansion stage 2.

Logamax compact WS170 heat interface unit

  • Elegant surface-mounted solution in Buderus Titanium design
  • With plate heat exchanger soldered with stainless steel and differential pressure valve as a standard feature
  • High domestic hot water output up to 50 kW, excellent ease of operation thanks to Logamatic EMS plus control system and increased efficiency thanks to return temperature control function

1. Plate heat exchanger
The plate heat exchanger integrated as a standard feature in the fully insulated station is soldered with stainless steel and therefore suitable for all regions.

2. Differential pressure valve
In all variants, a differential pressure control valve is integrated on the main side as a standard feature for hydraulic balancing of the primary circuit.

System: Expansion stage 2.

Logamax compact WS170 heat interface unit

System advantage:
The combination of the heat interface unit with the heating system enables considerably more energy efficiency and avoids disruptive gas connections in every flat. Integrating renewable energy is now also possible.

System

Expansion stage 3:
Renewable energy sources.

System: Expansion stage 3.

Air-water heat pump Logatherm WLW286

  • Uses heat from the air to produce heating efficiently and effectively
  • Ideal for multi-family houses, office buildings and industrial premises
  • For integration into the system via Logamatic 5000 with the Logamatic WPM100 touch display controller

System: Expansion stage 3.

Flexible and modular: Regenerative expansion with Buderus.

  • Logasol solar collectors: High-performance solar collectors from the Logasol series for supporting domestic hot water heating and the heat generator with solar energy
  • Logatherm WLW286: Efficient and innovative air to water heat pumps with a larger output range and the option of connecting up to eight heat pumps with different outputs in a cascade
  • XRGI combined heat and power unit: In four variants for high electricity and heat demand all year round – in a modular design with power unit, heating distribution unit and control cabinet

System: Expansion stage 3.

Renewable energy sources.

System advantage:

The addition of the efficient gas heat pump is appropriate for achieving a higher energy standard and also reducing running costs. Optimum operation of the entire system solution is guaranteed in conjunction with the basic heat generator and Logamatic 5000. Alternatively, further renewable energy sources can also be incorporated.

The BEG subsidy programme.

The BEG (German federal government subsidies for efficient buildings) is replacing the existing programmes from the Credit Institute for Reconstruction (KfW) and the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA). Proven elements have been developed further and bundled into three sub-programmes, which is intended to make the subsidy programme easier to understand for citizens, companies and municipalities.
